Manchester United’s first Premier League game being staged at Old Trafford since the news came out that the board was part of the breakaway European Super League. And roughly 10,000 supporters are expected to participate in an anti-Glazer demonstration outside Old Trafford ahead of the Liverpool fixture.

Numbers of fans invaded the stadium ahead of the behind-closed-doors Premier League game against arch-rivals and visitors for the game Liverpool. It’s apprehended some may attempt to obstruct team buses either find another way to force the game’s adjournment. A protest mainly for the owners, the Glazer family are owning the club since 2005.

 

 

 

“It’s important that the fans’ views are listened to and we communicate better,” United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said of the protest and the anger felt by fans despite the club’s departure from the planned Super League. My job is to focus on the football side and that we have the best possible team. As I’ve said before I’ve been backed, I’ve had great support from the club and the owners, and I’m sure I will get the backing again to go one step further. When the protests are on, they must go in a good fashion and that we keep it peaceful.”

Liverpool has not lost back-to-back games against their bitter rivals since a run of four from 2014 to 2016. However, Man United did win the most recent meeting in the FA Cup, running out 3-2 winners at Old Trafford in January. And Liverpool’s ongoing troubles in front of goal, it is tempting to predict another one for Sunday’s match.
