Manchester United vs Newcastle United

“He’s been having a good pre-season with Juventus, he’s played for the national team, he’s had a good week with us here, Solskjaer said. He will be on the pitch at some point, that’s for sure.”

Jadon Sancho suffering a minor knock on national duty might be available before the game. Fred might not play due to the Brazilian FA’s appeal to FIFA of banning players from playing for clubs. Maguire and Shaw are expected to start the match despite the late ending to their international break.

With Mctominay and Fred doubt for this game Van de Beek could get his nod. The Dutch international has not played competitive football since May. However, during the pre-season, Solksjaer played Van De Beek together with Matic in the double pivot with success.

Cristiano could play as Striker

Cristiano Ronaldo, if played, is expected to start through the middle. With Cavani not available due to his late return from international duties, Ronaldo might start the game against Newcastle. Greenwood or Martial could flank the Portuguese forward on the wing. Meanwhile, Pogba is expected to play the unorthodox left-forward role he has played so far in the season. The Frenchman was effective on the left-wing and seems to have found a good understanding with Luke Shaw at left-back.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United is in 17th place on the table. The Tyneside football club has not won any of their three games so far in the season. They have drawn two games and lost one of their three matches so far.

Old Trafford is expected to be filled out to see the return of Cristiano Ronaldo.  Adding to that, United has also acquired the services of Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho in the summer. Thus showing their ambition of winning the premier league this season.
