Legends Charity Game 2025: Spain’s leading sports outlet, MARCA, has been named the Official Media Partner for the Legends Charity Game 2025. With exclusive coverage rights across Spain, the partnership means millions of fans will get a front-row seat to one of the biggest charity football events of the year.

A Star-Studded Game with a Purpose

Taking place on September 15 in Lisbon, the Legends Charity Game will see Portugal Legends take on World Legends in a match filled with football royalty.

The goal is bigger than just sport – the event aims to raise €1 million for four chosen charities, bringing together the passion of football with a strong message of unity and social impact. The setting is also symbolic, with Lisbon preparing to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

Supporting Global Causes

Organised by Sport Global, the event will raise funds for four organisations making a difference worldwide. The Ukrainian Red Cross Society continues to deliver crucial aid during the ongoing war, while the Portuguese Red Cross supports communities in need closer to home.

International Alert, a peacebuilding NGO, works in conflict zones globally, and Caritas Portugal helps families facing poverty and displacement.

Legends on the Pitch

Fans can expect to see some of football’s most iconic names step back onto the pitch. Representing Portugal Legends are Luís Figo, Deco, Nuno Gomes, and Ricardo Carvalho. On the World Legends side, the lineup includes Kaka, Cafu, Carles Puyol, Michael Owen, Alessandro Del Piero, and Henrik Larsson.

The Power of Media Reach

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO & Founder of SBC Events and Sport Global Group, shared his excitement about MARCA’s involvement: “With MARCA on board, we’re able to reach millions of fans and drive real impact for the causes this match supports.”

He added, “Their reach, especially in Spain and Latin America, will be key to amplifying our message of hope, unity, and charitable giving.”

MARCA’s Global Influence

As the world’s second most visited sports website, MARCA.com is a giant in sports journalism. In June alone, it recorded more than 257 million visits. Known for its strong coverage, fan engagement, and massive global reach, MARCA’s role in the Legends Charity Game will ensure the event connects with fans not only in Spain but around the world.

A World-Class Event

The match is expected to bring 50,000 fans to Estádio José Alvalade and reach millions more through live broadcasts and digital streams. With Champions League-style production, it promises to be one of the most-watched and celebrated charity matches of the year.

“MARCA’s involvement ensures Lisbon, and the Legends Charity Game will be at the heart of the global football conversation this September,” Sojmark added.

The Legends Charity Game brings together legendary footballers for a good cause. Its mission is simple: raise €1 million for charity while uniting fans and players through the spirit of the game.
