Marvel Rivals is set for another major update as Season 5.5 goes live on December 12, 2025. This mid-season patch brings a new playable hero, fresh events, and a long list of fixes to improve the overall experience. The update aims to shake up the current meta, reward active players, and celebrate the game’s anniversary with exclusive content.
Here’s a simple breakdown of everything coming in Marvel Rivals Season 5.5.
Rogue Joins the Roster
The biggest highlight of this patch is the arrival of Rogue as a new Vanguard hero. She brings a melee-focused kit that lets her punish enemies up close while staying mobile. One of her strongest features is her ability to steal skills from opponents and use them against them. Her mix of power and mobility is expected to change team compositions once she enters the game.
New Event: Seeds of the Gardener
Season 5.5 introduces a fresh in-game event called Seeds of the Gardener. Players can complete a set of missions to unlock rewards, including a free Iron Man Mark II costume.
Along with this costume, the event also offers:
- Iron Fist’s Shenloong Champion skin
- Captain America’s Capwolf skin
- Several other themed cosmetics
This event encourages players to stay active throughout the mid-season and earn limited-time items.
Anniversary Events and Store Updates
The update also marks the game’s anniversary, and the developers are adding two special event modes:
- Jeff’s Break Time
- Van Dyne’s: Grand Opening
Both events will run until January 1, 2026, giving players plenty of time to take part.
To celebrate, the in-game store is also receiving exclusive anniversary bundles:
- Magik: New Millennia Might Bundle
- Doctor Strange: Bleeker Street Strut Bundle
- Venom: Gummy Surprise Bundle
- Blade: Restful Recovery Bundle
These limited items add more variety for players who enjoy collecting hero skins.
Bug Fixes in Season 5.5
The update also brings multiple fixes to clean up gameplay issues and polish hero interactions.
Some key improvements include:
- 18v18 MVP fix: MVP results now match properly in both match history and end-match screens.
- Voice changer adjustments: Fixed strange audio values in indoor areas.
- Flying heroes stuck bug: Airborne heroes will no longer get permanently grounded after being shot down.
- Daredevil ricochet bug: Devil’s Throw no longer bounces more times than intended.
- Hulk leap sound glitch: Hit sounds now sync correctly with actual damage.
- Storm’s visual issue: Jeff-Nado no longer removes Storm’s visual effects during combat.
These fixes aim to make battles smoother and eliminate issues players have been facing over the past few weeks.
