Youhu is a new 4-Star Resonator added in version 1.3 of Wuthering Waves. Even though she’s a 4-star unit, her abilities are quite strong. You can use her as a sub-DPS or a healer, depending on what your team needs. What makes Youhu unique is how her skills rely on some chance-based mechanics, allowing her to gain different buffs during battles.
While this may sound tricky, playing Youhu is actually simple and fun. This guide will help you understand her abilities and how to use her effectively.
Youhu’s Basic Attack and Abilities
Youhu’s main attacks include four basic hits, all dealing Glacio damage. For her heavy attack, called Frostfall, hold down the attack button and release it to gain one random antique. This antique can then be locked in and turned into an Auspice by pressing the attack button again.
Her special skill, called Forte Circuit, connects with her normal attacks. After gathering four Auspices, holding down the attack button unleashes this power, which changes depending on what types of Auspices she holds.
Here are the possible outcomes based on the combination of Auspices:
- Four different auspices: Youhu uses Free Verse, reducing enemy strength.
- Two identical Auspices: She uses Antithesis, boosting Forte Circuit damage by 70%.
- Two matching pairs: Youhu casts Double Pun, which restores extra HP to allies.
- Three identical Auspices: She unleashes Triplet, increasing Forte Circuit damage by 175%.
- Four identical Auspices: Youhu casts Perfect Rhyme, activating Free Verse, Double Pun, and Triplet at the same time.
- Youhu’s Resonance Skill and Antiques
- Youhu’s Resonance Skill is great for attacking enemies while healing your team. When she uses it, she performs a Lucky Draw, gaining one random antique, which can then be locked into an Auspice with a normal attack.
Here are the four antiques that play a key role in Youhu’s kit:
- Chime deals Glacio damage and reduces enemy strength.
- Ruyi: Delivers powerful Glacio damage with an added damage multiplier.
- Ding charges at the enemy, dealing Glacio damage and interrupting their stance.
- Mask: Throws a mask that deals Glacio damage and pulls enemies toward it.
Ultimate Skill
When the game uses her Resonance Liberation, she creates a powerful blast of Glacio damage. After this, you can pick one of her four antiques in a quick-selection window. If you don’t choose an antique, the game will randomly assign one to you.
Tips for Playing Youhu
Youhu’s playstyle is all about gathering matching antiques and turning them into Auspices to boost her damage. The key to mastering her is to collect as many matching antiques as possible to make her Forte Circuit attacks more powerful.
Here’s a basic rotation to follow when using Youhu:
- Switch in with her Intro Skill to gain an antique and turn it into an a normal attack.
- Use her Resonance Skill to get another Antiquantique to lock it in as an Auspice.
- Activate her heavy attack by holding down the attack button. This will give you another antique, which you can turn into an Auspice.
- To get the fourth Antique, use Dodge Counter, another Heavy Attack, or her Resonance Liberation. After getting the fourth antique, turn it into an Auspice.
- With four Auspices collected, unleash her Forte Circuit by holding down the attack button. This will activate one of her special abilities depending on the Auspices you have.
- Switch to another DPS character, activating her Outro Skill for a 100% damage boost for the next character’s attack.
