Formula 1 is filled with talented drivers, but every now and then, a rookie comes along who knows exactly who to look up to. Oliver Bearman, the young Haas driver, recently gave some huge praise to none other than Max Verstappen. And this isn’t just regular praise, Bearman called Verstappen the best driver to ever race in Formula 1!
This, coming from a rookie who’s fighting hard in his debut season, is a big deal. Bearman openly shared his admiration for Verstappen, calling him the “current reference” for talent and speed in the sport. According to Bearman, Verstappen isn’t just the best of this generation; he’s the best ever in the entire history of F1.
Right now, Max Verstappen is chasing his fifth world title. The season has been intense, with Verstappen closing in fast on the McLaren duo leading the championship. After the Dutch Grand Prix, Verstappen was 104 points behind the leader, Lando Norris. But through skill and determination, he narrowed that gap to just 36 points in the last few races, showing why he’s such a force to be reckoned with.
What Did Oliver Bearman Say About Max Verstappen?
Oliver Bearman got a firsthand experience racing wheel-to-wheel with Verstappen at the Mexico City Grand Prix. The two tussled for fourth place early in the race, with Bearman admitting he was “shitting himself” going side-by-side with the F1 legend. It’s easy to see why Verstappen has a reputation for being ruthless and fearless on the track. But he did praise Max Verstappen as much as he could.
“He’s on a good streak. I think he’s the best driver in F1. He’s the best driver that’s ever been in F1 as well. For someone like me, a rookie aspiring to hopefully one day fight for a world championship, Max is the guy that I’m looking up to. He’s the current reference for the most talented and the quickest guy in F1 at the moment. Previously in the year, he didn’t have a car to compete, but now it looks like he does.” he said
For Bearman and other rookies, Verstappen is the guy to watch and learn from. To fans, this praise adds a new layer of excitement to the championship battle.
