LSG team coach Justin Langer has openly spoken of how eager he was about the comeback of Mayank. Here is what he has said:
“Mayank has started bowling and running, which is a great thing for Indian cricket and the IPL. I saw footage of his bowling the other day at the NCA — he appeared 90 to 95 percent fit.
Langer’s optimism is not misplaced. Mayank has a reputation for clocking over 150 kmph consistently, which makes him one of the quickest bowlers on the Indian circuit.

Even though he featured in just four games in the previous season, Mayank Yadav became headlines on account of his raw speed and wicket-taking prowess.
His incandescent spells left batters in a tizzy and earned him the reputation as one of the most thrilling young pacers in the league. Due to this, LSG retained him along with some other core players despite his injury issues.

Despite their injury blows, Lucknow Super Giants have won four matches out of seven and are at the moment ranked fifth on the IPL 2025 points table. Their upcoming game is an important one against Rajasthan Royals at Jaipur, where everyone’s eyes will be on Mayank Yadav’s comeback in LSG colors.
