With this landmark decision, the MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) has established itself as the first cricket body in India to introduce a Domestic Contract system for players. The system is intended to provide domestic cricketers with financial security, ongoing motivation/effort and defined pathways of development in their careers.
Key Features of the MCA Domestic Contract System
As per this Domestic Contract Model, players will be selected based upon
- Performance in Domestic Competition
- Fitness Targets
- Recommendations from Selection Committee
This program is aimed at promoting those players who are approaching a higher level of achievement in professional cricket.
Contract Categories and Salary Structure
Mumbai Cricket Association Domestic Contract Classifications of Players
Class A
Annual Salary: ₹12 lakh to ₹20 lakh
Class B
Annual Salary: ₹8 lakh to ₹12 lakh
Class C
Annual Salary: ₹8 lakh
Apart from the above-mentioned contracts, players shall also be provided with:

Allowances per Day
Performance Incentives
Involvement of Male and Female Cricket Players
Although MCA’s Domestic Contract Scheme is an innovative idea, the organization still needs to decide whether these contracts will be applicable to both male and female cricket players.
