MI Full Squad, IPL 2026: Mumbai Indians had a pretty quiet outing at the IPL 2026 mini auction, and that was largely expected. The five-time champions already had most of their bases covered before the auction began. MI entered the event with 20 players in their squad and needed to add only a handful more, including just one overseas player, to complete their lineup.
MI Full Squad, IPL 2026: Quinton de Kock Returns to Familiar Territory
Mumbai Indians kicked off their auction activity by bringing back Quinton de Kock at his base price of Rs 1 crore. De Kock was added to the auction list following a recommendation from an unspecified franchise, which many believe was MI themselves.
The move turned out to be a smart piece of business as MI reunited with the wicketkeeping opener who previously played for the franchise from IPL 2019 to 2021, before moving on to Lucknow Super Giants and later Kolkata Knight Riders.
MI Full Squad, IPL 2026: Focus on Young Indian Talent
MI continued their low-risk approach by investing in young Indian players. They picked up uncapped top-order batter Danish Malewar for his base price of Rs 30 lakh. Malewar, who represents Vidarbha in domestic cricket, has impressed in red-ball cricket with 1151 runs in 22 first-class innings. His tally includes three centuries, one of which was a double hundred for Central Zone in the Duleep Trophy.
The franchise also added promising young pacer Mohammed Izhar from Bihar for Rs 30 lakh. Rounding off their buys was spin-bowling all-rounder Atharva Ankolekar, who was also snapped up at his base price of Rs 30 lakh. Mayank Rawat joined the squad for the same amount, completing MI’s auction activity.
