Max made a small mistake in Sector 1 during his second flying lap, but he still managed to reach the fastest time in Miami Grand Prix 2025 qualifying session. He gained time in Turns 4 to 6 and also in the slow corners of Sector 2.

McLaren drivers had faster ideal laps, but they couldn’t put all their best sectors together. That gave Max the advantage.

Just hours after being on the podium, Hamilton could not even reach Q3 of Miami Grand Prix 2025.

In Q2, he was behind Leclerc’s time, even though he was ahead in the beginning. After Turn 16, Leclerc closed the gap using DRS, and in Turn 17, Hamilton made a mistake, losing more time.

He still does not seem fully comfortable with the new car, which is surprising for a driver like him.

After a poor Sprint result, Kimi came back strong and finished between the two McLaren drivers in Miami Grand Prix 2025 qualifying.

He was solid in Sectors 1 and 2, and also in the final corners. He used less throttle in high-speed corners but still had better times, thanks to a different aero setup.

4. Oscar Piastri – His Championship Lead is Now Under Pressure

Oscar Piastri, who is leading the championship, qualified in fourth place.

He was the only driver in Q3 who did not improve his time. He lost over 0.3 seconds to Max by Turn 4 in Sector 1, and the gap got even bigger in Sector 2.

He now needs a strong race to stay at the top of the standings.

5. Williams – Best Qualifying of the Season with P6 and P7

Williams had their best in Miami Grand Prix 2025 qualifying result of this season, with both drivers taking P6 and P7.

Their FW47 car is not just fast but now it also handles better in corners. Carlos Sainz has learned how to get the best out of it.

If they keep their race plan clean, they can score good points.

6. Ferrari – Being Behind Williams is a Big Setback

Leclerc (P8) and Hamilton (P12) finishing behind both Williams cars is not a good sign for Ferrari.

The SF-25 car is still too sensitive to setup changes. Both drivers are having trouble performing well in qualifying and the race.

Ferrari will now have to take a bold step in the race to recover.

7. Ocon and Gasly – One in Q3, the Other Out in Q1

Esteban Ocon made it to Q3 for the first time this season and will start from P9. If Haas chooses a good strategy, he can score points.

On the other side, Pierre Gasly could not go past Q1 and will start from P18. He lost most of his time in Sector 1, which caused the early exit.

There were multiple ups and downs during qualifying for the Miami Grand Prix 2025. Max Verstappen impressed everyone yet again, while Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton experienced trouble. Williams took everyone aback , and Kimi Antonelli once again showed his talent. Now all eyes are on the main race, where the winner will be decided, is now the centre of attention.
