Miami Grand Prix Sprint Qualifying was as dramatic as it could get. The pole position was claimed by Mercedes’ rookie Kimi Antonelli, who delivered a stunning performance to claim his record-breaking pole position. He became the youngest ever to claim an F1 pole position at just the age of just18 years with a stunning lap of 1:26.482. The feat is especially historic since it’s Antonelli’s only sixth F1 weekend as he filled the seat left by Lewis Hamilton.
The session was fiercely competitive, with Antonelli edging out the McLaren duo of Oscar Piastri by just 0.045 seconds and Lando Norris, who finished in third position. The event was filled with chaos and drama that unfolded during qualifying, as drivers fought to set their laps in the best possible time.
Kimi Antonelli shared his excitement on his pole position and said, “I am over the moon. I did not expect it. I was feeling good in the car. I was able to improve lap by lap and find that consistency and that gap came all together. I am super happy with that. We will enjoy this moment, but I want to focus on tomorrow because I really want to try to repeat myself.”
