Mitchell Marsh is likely to miss the ODI series against Sri Lanka as he got injured. He got a minor calf strain which is why his presence in the ODI series remains unlikely. Mitchell Marsh is having one of the best cricketing phases of his life as his form has been talked about everywhere. Thus, the Australian team and the selectors don’t want to take any risk by picking him up in the ODI series as they feel he can be one of Australia’s important players in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Mitchell Marsh is in an exceptional run of form since the start of this year and he was in amazing touch in his IPL franchise Delhi Capitals as well. He also won some games with a bat for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022. Looking at his stats in recent years, the Australian cricket board and selectors had no doubts in selecting him for the T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Mitchell Marsh also played in the first and second T20I match against Sri Lanka and the third one is currently ongoing. But Mitchell Marsh couldn’t feature for Australia in the third T20I due to his calf strain. The 3-match ODI series between Australia and Sri Lanka will be starting from 14th June.
