From the very first delivery of the match, the tone was established by Marsh, who dispatched a six over the rooftop of Lungi Ngidi, energizing the crowd.

Mitchell Marsh’s First-Ball Six Creates a Rare Record

With his powerful shot, Mitchell Marsh was the second Australian cricketer in the history of T20 to score a six on the very first ball of a T20 International match. The first one was Aaron Finch, who did it against India in 2022, scoring a six off Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

But Marsh was not able to turn his belligerent beginning into a massive score and was out on 13 runs from 7 balls with 1 four and 1 six.

This came after he had scored his century against the West Indies in recent times, highlighting his consistency in the shortest form.
