New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner has been tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of their tour to Ireland. New Zealand cricket team made this news official on Saturday night. Mitchell Santner was named captain for the T20Is against Ireland but now it seems he will miss out some games. New Zealand batter Tom Latham will lead the side in the ODIs.
New Zealand is due to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is against Ireland. The first ODI between New Zealand & Ireland will be played on 10th July. Before skipper Mitchell Santner, Kane Williamson was also tested positive for COVID-19 when New Zealand was playing 3-match Test series against England. England clean swept New Zealand in this series ahead of playing the last Test match against India at Edgbaston.
