Mohammed Siraj, India’s star fast bowler, was appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) after meeting Telangana’s Director General of Police (DGP), Jitender, on Friday, October 11, 2024. This came right after India won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 when Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that Siraj would be given a government job and a plot of land to reward his success.

Siraj isn’t the only one to receive this honor. The Telangana government also gave a job to two-time world champion boxer Nikhat Zareen for her outstanding performance. The last time Siraj played for India was during the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, where he took 4 wickets in both Tests, helping India win the series 2-0.
“Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj has been appointed as Telangana’s DSP, honoring his cricket achievements and dedication to the state. He will continue his cricket career while inspiring many with his new role.”
In the current T20I series against Bangladesh, the Indian team decided to rest Mohammed Siraj and gave young players Mayank Yadav and Harshit Rana a chance to play. India won the first two matches of the series and will play the final game against Bangladesh on Saturday in Hyderabad.
