Pakistan cricket is no stranger to bold statements, but former interim head coach Mohsin Khan just made a huge claim. In a heated TV interview, he not only compared Babar Azam to Virat Kohli but also called the Indian star “nothing” in comparison.

Mohsin Khan Made A Controversial Remark On Virat Kohli vs Babar Azam Debate

When asked about Babar Azam’s recent struggles and how he compares to Virat Kohli, Mohsin didn’t hold back.

Let me be clear: Virat Kohli is nothing when compared to Babar Azam; he is zero,” Mohsin declared.

A statement like that was sure to turn heads. Virat Kohli, with his countless records, World Cup victories, and match-winning performances, has set the standard in modern cricket. But Mohsin wasn’t just defending Babar’s talent; he was also using the opportunity to criticize the decline of Pakistan cricket.

Mohsin didn’t stop at Kohli. He painted a bleak picture of Pakistan cricket and slammed the system, saying it’s a complete mess.

The real problem is Pakistan cricket, which is completely ruined. There is no planning, proper strategy, merit, or accountability at all,”  he added.

The former coach didn’t hold back. He blamed personal interests and favoritism for Pakistan’s constant failures in major tournaments, highlighting their early exits and underwhelming performances.

“In previous tournaments as well, we failed to qualify for the next round. It is shameful how our cricket has come downhill just because of personal benefits and personal motives.”

Mohsin Khan Reflects on His Legacy as Chief Selector and Coach

Mohsin strongly backed Babar Azam, but his recent form tells a different story. He hasn’t scored a century since August 2023, and his performances in the Champions Trophy have been disappointing. The decision to promote him up the order hasn’t worked either, and with mounting pressure, Pakistan’s fans are demanding results, not just praise.

“When I was the chief selector, by the grace of Almighty Allah, I used to select the best possible team. I sincerely worked for the Pakistan Cricket Board, and my results as head coach depict my hard work. My goal was to take Pakistan cricket forward.”

With Pakistan cricket facing tough times and Babar struggling to silence critics, Mohsin’s comments are sure to stir up more controversy. But calling Kohli a “zero” compared to Babar? That’s a statement that will spark debates for a long time.
