Naman “Mortal” Mathur, the popular Indian gaming personality, has won the prestigious Esports Content Creator of the Year award at the Esports Awards 2024.
Naman “Mortal” Mathur, the well-known gaming personality, has won the prestigious Esports Content Creator of the Year award at the Esports Awards 2024. Mortal, a former professional PUBG Mobile and BGMI player and a popular YouTuber, took home the honour after being nominated alongside 11 other talented creators from across the globe.
At 27, Mortal has already made a significant mark in the esports world. He’s not only the founder of Soul Esports but also the co-founder of S8UL. He first gained fame in 2018 when he entered the world of PUBG Mobile esports, quickly rising to prominence and becoming one of the most recognized names in the scene. The Esports Awards 2024 ceremony took place in two stages. The first part, held in Saudi Arabia on August 24, honored winners in several categories, while the second part, which included Mortal’s award, was held on November 22, 2024.

Unfortunately, Mortal was not able to attend the award ceremony in person. However, Animesh “Thug” Agarwal, his close partner and co-founder of S8UL, accepted the award on his behalf. Thug expressed his joy in receiving the award for Mortal, wishing him all the best as he prepares for a new chapter in his life, with his upcoming wedding. He added a lighthearted comment, joking that Mortal’s fans were giving him one last celebration before his big day.
Following his win, Mortal shared his thoughts on social media, expressing how overwhelmed he was by the honor. He also celebrated the breaking of his “second-place curse,” a reference to his past near-wins at the Esports Awards. He proudly added that he was thrilled to represent India on a global stage.
This victory marks Mortal’s first Esports Award win, a milestone that also sees him surpass many other famous creators in the field. Meanwhile, his esports organization, S8UL, triumphed by winning the Esports Content Group of the Year for the third consecutive time.
With over 7 million YouTube subscribers and 5 million Instagram followers, Mortal continues to be one of the most influential figures in the gaming world. After stepping down from competitive gaming, he now dedicates himself to content creation, livestreaming various games on his channel.
