The SA20 Auction 2025, held in Johannesburg, turned out to be the most thrilling and financially significant event in the history of the South Africa T20 League.  541 players went under the hammer, comprising 300 local and 241 overseas cricketers.

With teams coming into the bidding war with bulging purses, Pretoria Capitals first with USD 1.86 million, the auction smashed a number of previous records. While international superstars such as James Anderson and Temba Bavuma shockingly remained unsold, a few emerging and already established stars pocketed multi-million rand deals.

10. Quinton de Kock – R2.4 Million (Sunrisers Eastern Cape)

Experienced South African wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock was in the news when he changed teams for the 2026 season. Having spent three years with Durban Super Giants, he was bought by Sunrisers Eastern Cape for a price of R2.4 million (approx. INR 1.2 crore). Although modest relative to others on the list, his worth as a marquee player keeps him a top earner.

9. Anrich Nortje – R5 Million (Sunrisers Eastern Cape)

Returning from a long injury hiatus, hot pacer Anrich Nortje was a coveted property. Having previously played for Pretoria Capitals, Sunrisers Eastern Cape signed Nortje for R5 million (approximately INR 2.5 crore), a sign of his anticipated contribution with the new ball.
