The Road Ahead for Musheer Khan

Nineteen-year-old Musheer Khan, who has had an outstanding first-class season, is set to travel to Australia for the India A shadow tour, which includes three four-day Tests. He has made a strong impression this season with a double hundred in the Ranji quarter-final and a century in the final, as well as scoring 181 runs for India B against India A.

The India A team for the Australia tour will be selected based on performances in the Duleep Trophy and the Irani Cup match between the Rest of India and Ranji champions Mumbai, which will take place before the tour. While some Test specialists and pacers might travel early, Musheer and Rajasthan left-arm spinner Manav Suthar are almost certain to make the team. Suthar has emerged as the top left-arm spinner after Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel, surpassing Saurabh Kumar.
