Recordkeeping is an important part of sports but with different rules from other sports. For instance, stats generally do not need to be kept throughout each season but only every single game. They can be used in a variety of situations such as to decide who is going to win a best of seven playoff series. Records are also important in that they show the team’s success, failures and also its history over time. Records can sometimes be broken but that is not always the case. It depends on what category the record is in and if enough work can be done or if something happened that can affect how long the record will stand for.
