The 2025-26 NBA season is getting closer, but for many teams, the work has already started. Training camps are underway, and once again, offense will be the main focus. Last year, every team in the top 10 for offensive rating made the playoffs, proving how important scoring efficiency is in today’s game.

Some stars, like Jayson Tatum and Tyrese Haliburton, are recovering from injuries, which could slow down the Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers. That opens the door for other teams to step up and take the spotlight as offensive powerhouses. Here are five squads that could dominate on offense this season.

NBA 2025-26: 5 Teams That Could Dominate Offense

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers finished just outside the top 10 in offensive rating last year, but this season could be very different. With Luka Doncic and LeBron James both creating plays, LA has one of the best passing duos in league history. Austin Reaves has also grown into a steady scorer and playmaker.

The addition of Deandre Ayton gives them a stronger option at center compared to last year. With JJ Redick getting a full preseason to work with his team, the Lakers could finally break into the top five for offensive efficiency.

New York Knicks

Despite being known for defense, the Knicks ranked fifth in offense last season. Their issue was inconsistency from the bench, especially when Jalen Brunson wasn’t on the floor.

This offseason, New York made some key moves. Mike Brown replaced Tom Thibodeau as head coach, while Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele joined the roster. Clarkson’s scoring and playmaking will help ease the pressure on Brunson. With a starting lineup featuring Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby, and Karl-Anthony Towns, the Knicks could be even better offensively this year.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers were one of the top scoring teams last season, nearly leading the league in offensive rating. They kept their main core of Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, and Evan Mobley, giving them strong chemistry.

Adding Lonzo Ball and getting a full season from De’Andre Hunter could make the Cavs even more dangerous. Their balance of shooting, inside scoring, and playmaking puts them in a great spot to finish near the top again.

Denver Nuggets

The Nuggets had the fourth-best offense last season, led by Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. Their biggest problem was lack of bench scoring, which hurt them in stretches.

That weakness has been addressed. Michael Porter Jr. was traded for Cam Johnson, while Bruce Brown, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Jonas Valanciunas joined the team. With more depth and reliable scoring options, Denver’s offense could reach new heights. They might even challenge for the number one spot.

Oklahoma City Thunder

The Thunder were already elite last season, finishing third in offensive rating while also leading on defense. And that was with Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein missing big chunks of the season.

Now, with both big men healthy, OKC looks even stronger. The team also adds Nikola Topic, a young guard known for his vision and playmaking. With 14 players returning from their championship roster, their chemistry will be hard to match. If everything clicks, the Thunder could end up as the best offensive team in the NBA.
