The NBA All-Star Game ‘Most Valuable Player’-MVP award-is an honor that some basketball players dream of, yet only a select few basketball stars can ever achieve.
First, a player must be picked as an NBA All-Star, which is a process that involves winning the acclaim of fans, media, current players and coaches. Then, they must prove they are the best among the best on an All-Star weekend where players come under bright spotlight as all other league activities are paused.
There are currently two players tied for most All-Star Game MVP awards: Bobb Pettit and Kobe Bryant, who have four titles each. They are followed by Oscar Robertson, Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James with three All-Star Game MVP awards each.
Apart from being in an elite company for the number of NBA All-Star MVP awards, James also holds the record for being the youngest player ever to receive the recognition. The three-time Olympic champion was just 21 and 51 days old when he was crowned MVP at the 2006 All-Star Game in Houston.
