Consistency Still Missing and Neeraj Chopra Himself Pointed Out the Problem

Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal at the Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 with a throw of 86.18m but his focus was not limited to just the podium. He clearly knows that his real goal is still incomplete. He wants to cross the 90m mark more than once. Even after being the Tokyo Olympics champion, Neeraj is still trying to perfect every throw.

A Technical Mistake That Affects Him Only During Competitions

At a recent event, Neeraj revealed that there is a flaw in his throwing technique that appears more during competitions. He said that while throwing the spear, his body weight shifts too much to the left side which breaks his motion. He added, “Everything goes fine in training but during competitions, because of the extra effort, I tend to fall more towards the left.”

Neeraj touched the 90m mark once this year. But he believes doing it once is not enough. His regular throws still stay around 88 to 89m. The coach is happy with that but Neeraj says that until he crosses 90m more often, his job is not done.

Before World Championships He Will Train in Czech Republic for 57 Days

Neeraj is now going to train in Prague and Nymburk in the Czech Republic for 57 days. His next goal is the World Championships which will be held in Tokyo in September. He said, “Before the event, I will plan with my coach and decide which competition will help me prepare in the best way.”

When Neeraj Started Accepting His Flaws That’s When He Became a True Champion

Among 14,593 spectators, the cheer after every throw was not just for the gold medal but for the strong mindset he showed. When athletes like Neeraj talk about their own weaknesses, their victories become even more inspiring.
