NEP vs ITA: Italian captain Wayne Madsen has been ruled out of the tournament
Nepal and Italy will be up against each other in the seventeenth match of the Men’s T20 World Cup at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Both Nepal and Italy are coming into the game on the back of a loss in their respective matches and would eye a strong comeback on a ground that is known to be a high-scoring one.
If we talk about the two sides individually, Nepal will start the game as favourites, given the fact that they are playing their second match at this venue and would be familiar with the conditions
Italy, on the other hand, would hope for a better performance with the ball, which wasn’t the case in the previous match, to give the batters a good chance of winning the game.
NEP vs ITA: What Did the Captain Said
Harry Manenti, who will lead the side in the absence of Wayne Madsen, said after winning the toss that he would be fielding first. He was quick to admit that there were some nerves in the first match against Scotland, and there were some mistakes that the team made in that particular game; as a result, they failed to get momentum in their favour.
Having said that, it is a good opportunity for Italy to put on a strong effort with bat, ball and in the field against Nepal.
Rohit Paudel, the Nepalese captain, was of the opinion that they would have bowled first as well, the reason being the wicket, which is the same on which the last game was played. Paudel also added that there are certain areas they need to improve in both batting and bowling departments, with the last three to four overs being one of them, where they will have to hold their nerves and absorb pressure.
NEP vs ITA: Playing XI
Nepal: Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh (wk), Rohit Paudel (c), Dipendra Singh Airee, Aarif Sheikh, Lokesh Bam, Gulsan Jha, Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, Sandeep Lamichhane, Lalit Rajbanshi
Italy: Anthony Mosca, Justin Mosca, JJ Smuts, Harry Manenti (c), Ben Manenti, Marcus Campopiano, Grant Stewart, Gian Meade (wk), Jaspreet Singh, Crishan Kalugamage, Ali Hasan
NEP vs ITA: How Will the Pitch Behave
The pitch being used for the game between Nepal and Italy is the same as that for the ENG vs WI game played less than 24 hours ago, meaning that it will have a lot of assistance for the spinners, which was the case during the ENG vs WI game.
The batters will have their task cutout and will have to get used to the conditions before taking on the opposition bowlers. A score of 180-190 can prove to be a winning total while batting first.
