3 Min Read

The Netherlands have announced their squad for the coming BAN vs ZIM (Bangladesh vs Netherlands) three-match T20I series with a couple of surprise additions and notable alterations. Veteran all-rounder Sikander Zulfiqar returns to the national T20I team after a six-year break, while seamer Sebastiaan Braat has also been brought back in, with his last appearance in international cricket being in 2021.

Young Talent Cedric de Lange Receives First Call-Up

In a major boost for the future, 17-year-old talent Cedric de Lange has been handed his national debut. Netherlands captain Scott Edwards was delighted to introduce new blood, hailing Cedric’s consistent summer performances at home.

“Cedric has impressed all summer, and he’s thoroughly deserved his call-up. We’re looking forward to what he brings on this tour and in the years ahead,” Edwards revealed.

Injury Blues and Player Absence

The Netherlands will miss speedy bowlers Ryan Klein and Fred Klaassen, who have been ruled out because of injuries. Saqib Zulfiqar, the brother of Sikander, has also declined the tour for personal reasons.

Scott Edwards Enjoys Return of Veteran Players

Captain Scott Edwards spoke about the importance of experience in the team, pointing out the inclusion of both Sikander Zulfiqar and Sebastiaan Braat.

“Sikander has been a great asset in our national team previously. He’s phenomenal at clearing the fence at the back end of the game, and I am eagerly waiting to see him again,” Edwards observed.

“Sebastiaan Braat has had a solid summer at club and domestic level. It’s wonderful to have his experience back in the side.”

BAN vs ZIM T20I Series Schedule

The Bangladesh vs Netherlands (BAN vs ZIM) three-match T20I series will be hosted at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, with the following matches:

1st T20I – August 30

2nd T20I – September 1

3rd T20I – September 3
