The faceoff round of T20 World Cup between Netherlands and Sri Lanka is likely to take place on 20th of October (15:00 pm onwards) at Kardinia Park Stadium, Geelong. Both of the teams have been put under Group ‘A’ of the qualifier batches.
Post encountering a tough ODI series, the Netherlands is expected to showcase their skills and efforts over the recent years at the T20 World Cup of 2022. With their fellow competitors, Netherlands has a great opportunity of making it to the Top 12 of the tournaments. Though being put towards the bottom of the rank list, the team is expected to have the capability of defeating the above ranked competitors. However, this team will be composed of 15 players. The team will be led by their captain Scott Edwards, who is considered to be one of the finest wicketkeepers of the team. Also, they are said to possess bowling options like Logan van Beek, Paul van Meekeren and Brandon Glover.

As wicket- keeping options, they have Kusal Mendis and Bhanuka Rajapaksa.
And, as per reports their ‘not so great’ performance against Australia and India in the series matches, didn’t let them qualify for the Top 12. Also, they are considered to maintain their strong performance, after their win over India, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh recently.

According to reports, the Sri Lanka and Netherlands teams have previously met in 2 matches in T20. And, out of those, Sri Lanka managed to win, defeating Netherlands in both of the matches.
Considering the previous matches and recent performances, Sri Lanka is likely considered to be a step forward than the other. But the Netherlands team is equally strong and as well expected to retain their form.
