New York City Marathon: All You Need To Know

The New York City Marathon will mark the final event of the World Marathon Major of 2025. The 54th edition will be held on Sunday, 2 November.

One of the largest marathons in the world, the New York City Marathon  is an annual marathon (42.195 km or 26.219 mi) that courses through the five boroughs of New York City.

The highlight this year at the New York City marathon will be the debuts of Olympic champions Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya and Dutchwoman Sifan Hassan.

In the women’s field, Hassan’s Paris 2024 rivals, Hellen Obiri, the Kenyan bronze medallist, and compatriot Sharon Lokedi, who was fourth, will will be running for the title glory.

On the men’s side, Kipchoge will face Dutch defending champion Abdi Nageeye, and compatriots Evans Chebet and Albert Korir – both former New York City Marathon champions. Even more interest has been sparked by the late addition of Kenenisa Bekele of Ethiopia.
