New Zealand continued their unbeaten run in the Cricket World Cup 2023 with a comprehensive 99-run victory over Netherlands in Hyderabad on Monday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, New Zealand posted a total of 322/7 in their 50 overs, with Will Young (70), Rachin Ravindra (52) and Tom Latham (50) all scoring half-centuries. Mitchell Santner (46*) and Daryl Mitchell (36) also made significant contributions with the bat.
Netherlands bowlers Aryan Dutt, Paul van Meekeren and Roelof van der Merwe all picked up two wickets each, but they were unable to contain the New Zealand batsmen for long periods of time.

In reply, Netherlands got off to a steady start, with Vikramjit Singh (30) and Max O’Dowd (25) putting on a 55-run opening partnership. However, Matt Henry and Mitchell Santner struck early blows to reduce Netherlands to 75/2.
Bas de Leede (49) and Colin Ackermann (32) tried to rebuild the innings, but they were unable to maintain a good run rate. Netherlands lost wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for 223 in 46 overs.
Mitchell Santner was the pick of the New Zealand bowlers, picking up four wickets for 40 runs. Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson also picked up two wickets each.
New Zealand’s victory takes them to the top of Group A, with two wins from two matches. Netherlands, on the other hand, remain bottom of the group, with two losses from two matches.
