Newcastle eye Benjamin Sesko swoop amid Alexander Isak exit twist
There’s a fresh twist brewing on Tyneside and it could shake up Newcastle United’s entire attacking setup.
According to The Athletic, the Magpies have lined up RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko as a potential replacement in case Alexander Isak decides to pack his bags. Yes, you read that right, Isak, Newcastle’s £63m star striker, is reportedly exploring a move away from St. James’ Park.
And the club he’s being linked with? Just Liverpool. No big deal.
Jurgen Klopp’s former side (now under Arne Slot’s reign) are rumoured to be preparing a monster £150 million bid for the Swedish forward, a number that would make even the richest clubs think twice. But if Newcastle bite, they’ll need a Plan B and that’s where Sesko enters the picture.
The 21-year-old Slovenian striker scored 21 goals in 45 games for Leipzig last season, quietly turning into one of Europe’s hottest young forwards. Arsenal were sniffing around earlier, but they’ve turned their attention to Viktor Gyokeres instead, leaving Sesko back on the open market.

Now here’s the kicker, Sesko reportedly has a gentleman’s agreement with Leipzig. Basically, if the right club comes calling, he’s free to go. The problem? He’s under contract until 2029, so Leipzig still hold the cards when it comes to the final price tag.
It’s still early days in this transfer tug-of-war.
Newcastle haven’t made a final decision on Isak yet, and it remains to be seen if they’d actually let him leave. But if they do, expect a swift push for Sesko, who ticks all the boxes: young, clinical, and ready for the Premier League spotlight.

Isak wants to leave Newcastle, Liverpool are eyeing a £150m bid. Newcastle are interested in Benjamin Sesko as a replacement.
He has scored 21 goals for Leipzig last season.
Arsenal interest in him has cooled as Gyokeres deal is done. Sesko has a gentleman’s agreement to leave if the right offer arrives. Stay tuned. This one’s heating up fast and it could be a big summer shuffle in the Magpies’ forward line.
