The former Barcelona forward is currently out of action because of the injury that he sustained during the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers. He has been unavailable since October after sustaining a cruciate ligament injury in the 2-0 loss to Uruguay in the World Cup qualifiers, where he had to be stretchered off. This injury requires nine months to heal, ruling him out of the entire Copa America 2024.
