All while driving for his team, Kick Sauber, which is believed to be a midfield team.
Nico Hulkenberg’s milestone isn’t just special because it came after a long period of time; it was outstanding because he started all the way in the back.
Nico Hulkenberg: Racing Against The Odds
He started the race in 19th position. All the odds were against him today as the weather was tricky and marked by rain showers, and the race saw several safety cars. As the race went on, he kept moving up the order and passed many cars, even when the rain got heavier and everyone struggled for a clear vision.

By the end of the race, he was fighting for a spot on the podium with the best driver on the Silverstone track, Lewis Hamilton himself. In the last few laps, Hamilton was giving his everything not to lose his podium streak in his home race. However, Nico Hulkenberg did not give up. He drove quickly and with precision, keeping the positive intact. When the checkered flag waved, he crossed the line in third place, finally earning that much-deserved podium at Silverstone 2025.
Driver Of The Day
Fans around the world noticed Nico Hulkenberg’s amazing drive and voted him “Driver of the Day,” and he won with an incredible vote of 49%. This also marked the team’s first-ever podium since 2012. It’s a big result for the team before it becomes Audi next year.
Nico Hulkenberg On The Win

Nico Hulkenberg was obviously emotional after the victory. He said after the race, “It’s been a long time coming, hasn’t it? But I always knew we have it in us, I have it in me, somewhere. What a race. Coming from virtually last, doing it all over again from last weekend. It’s pretty surreal, to be honest. I’m not sure how it all happened, but obviously crazy, mixed conditions. It was a survival fight for a lot of the race. I think we just were really on it with the right calls, the right tires in the right moment, made no mistakes, quite incredible.”
Nico Hulkenberg’s amazing result also brought an end to Hamilton’s consecutive podium streak at the British Grand Prix that has been going on for over a decade.
