- Nium x FTX “Change Makers” Charity Match — Nium and FTX, an official partner of the ICC, will join forces to host an exclusive charity cricket match at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on 11 November, 2022. The unique on-field experience will benefit two standout charities: Red Dust, a local Australian initiative inspiring positive change in remote indigenous communities throughout Australia, and Bat for a Chance, a registered nonprofit that provides cricket equipment to underprivileged children around the world. The match will include financial donations from Nium and FTX, a high performance cricket gear donation to Bat for a Chance from moonwalkr, and a ceremonial presentation with representatives from both charities.
- Captain’s Table 2022: “Change Makers” — As part of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 closing events, Nium will host The Captain’s Table, a thought-provoking evening event in Melbourne, Australia on 12 November, 2022. The Captain’s Table will celebrate several “Change Makers” who have challenged the status quo in their own special way, breaking through gender and racial barriers to redefine the sport of cricket. This intimate event will feature conversations with Mel Jones, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup commentator and former member of the Australian national women’s cricket team, Wasim Khan, ICC General Manager – Cricket, William Glenwright, ICC General Manager – Global Development, Eoin Morgan, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup commentator and former captain of the England Men’s 50 over and T20 teams. Opening the event for Nium will be Jeremiah Glodoveza.
- Nium and ICC Hackathon: “Innovation for Fans” — Innovation is paramount to the cricket fan experience, with new platforms and technologies to leverage, such as the metaverse, web3 and virtual gaming. Nium and the ICC have partnered to launch a Hackathon designed to create an intersection between sports and technology, and inspire new ideas for the millions of cricket fans around the world. Open to all, the Hackathon will challenge participants to conceptualize and pitch new and unique fan experiences, resulting in 10 teams being selected to present their ideas to a panel of judges. Formats and timelines are still being finalized and will be further announced by Nium and the ICC in the coming month.
