Ravi Shastri’s final project as Team India coach will be the forthcoming T20 World Cup, which begins on Sunday. Shastri’s stint as the team’s head coach will come to an end during the event, and if rumours are to be believed, India batting icon Rahul Dravid will take his place.
The BCCI has yet to make an official announcement, but the rumours surrounding Dravid’s appointment have generated quite a stir. When asked about the rumours, India captain Virat Kohli, who will be leading the team in his final T20I assignment at the T20 World Cup, provided an unusual reaction.
“I mean, our ultimate aim is to win the World Cup. I have no idea what’s going on with the coach; we haven’t had any in-depth conversations with anyone “, Kohli remarked at an ICC Captain’s Call event before of the ultimate T20 battle.
Virat Kohli said, "winning the World Cup has been the ultimate aim for me as captain, Ravi Shastri as the coach and it will be wonderful to actually achieve it". (To Press).

Team India captain Virat Kohli also stated why Yuzvendra Chahal was left out of the World Cup team “It was a difficult decision, but we chose Rahul Chahar for a reason. In the IPL during the previous couple of years, he has bowled really effectively. He was a speed bowler who fared really well in Sri Lanka and against England at home. He was also someone who bowled those difficult overs “.
Chahal ended the IPL 2021 season with 18 wickets in 15 appearances, including a 3/11 against the Mumbai Indians. 14 of the team’s 18 wickets came in the second leg’s eight matches.
India will kick-off their T20 World Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 24.
