India’s winning streak at the ongoing Asia Cup ended with a defeat against Pakistan this Sunday. The audience was treated to another match going right down the wire. However, ultimately Pakistan sealed the match in the chase with one ball to spare. Although both teams presented tough competition to each other, the Indian side gave it away while fielding.

Arshdeep Singh, the young talent participating in his first Asia Cup dropped an important catch in the 18th over. With 26 needed in 12 balls at the moment, the pressure was soaring high. And Singh, placed at the short mid-wicket let a supposed easy catch slip right through his hand. And now, as India faced a defeat at the hands of their arch-rivals, the bowler is facing the brunt of it all on social media.

While the batting department fared well, the bowling side came with many shortcomings in the chase. And the defeat is cumulative of all those shortcomings, not just a dropped catch. However, netizens chose to dump it all on Arshdeep, who by the way bowled extremely well in the last over. While the trolling turned extremely unfair on social media, Arshdeep Singh found support in his cricket mates and legends.
