West Ham United signed a new midfielder named Lucas Paqueta from Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyonnais. West Ham was a long-time interested club in the midfielder and wanted him this summer. West Ham paid a club-record fee for Paqueta as he joined the club for a few around €51 million.
Lucas Paqueta has signed a 5-year contract with the English Premier League club (West Ham United), which means he will be in the club for the next five years until 2027. Paqueta didn’t have a plan to leave Lyon earlier but playing in the Premier League is also tempted him. Some big clubs were also interested in the midfielder but never made the move for him.
The Brazilian midfielder has improved well in the Ligue 1 club Lyon now be playing in one of the greatest football leagues (English Premier League) from this season (2022/23). Lucas Paqueta could make his debut in the next match as he has been officially presented as a new West Ham United player.
West Ham United will be up against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night, where the fans could witness Lucas Paqueta making his debut for the English side.
