Winning an overseas Test match, especially a series, is a rare achievement for Bangladesh. This victory in the PAK vs BAN test series marks only their fourth Test win on foreign soil in seven years and their third-ever series win outside Bangladesh.

For Pakistan, this loss extended their winless streak at home to ten matches. Since their last victory against South Africa in February 2021, they have drawn four Tests and lost six, including series defeats to Australia, England, and now Bangladesh in this PAK vs BAN test series.

Bangladesh’s Chase and Key Moments in PAK vs BAN

Starting the second session, Bangladesh needed 63 runs with eight wickets remaining in the PAK vs BAN test series. Shanto made a few aggressive shots but was dismissed softly, caught by Abdullah Shafique off a Salman Agha delivery.

Mominul, who was quiet in the morning session, became more active after Shanto’s fall. He hit a cut shot for four off Salman and another boundary off Mir Hamza. Despite Pakistan’s attempts, including unsuccessful LBW reviews, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan made sure there were no more mistakes. Shakib hit a six off Abrar Ahmed, reducing the target further, and scored the winning runs before tea. This victory moved Bangladesh up to fourth place on the World Test Championship table, surpassing England.

Pakistan’s Bowling and Bangladesh’s Resilience in PAK vs BAN

Earlier in the PAK vs BAN test series, Pakistan’s bowlers found their rhythm and limited Bangladesh’s scoring. In the extended morning session, only 80 runs were scored in 27 overs, with Pakistan taking both openers’ wickets. Despite this, Shanto and Mominul stood firm.

Starting from 42 for no loss, Shadman Islam hit a crisp shot but faced tough bowling. Mohammad Ali missed a potential wicket when Zakir Hasan edged a delivery, but no appeal was made. Zakir was soon dismissed by Hamza, who hit the top of the off-stump with a well-placed delivery.

Hamza and Ali maintained pressure, but Shanto and Mominul were steady. Shanto played aggressively at times, hitting a midwicket boundary and a drive down the ground. Mominul played more conservatively but showed aggression with a slog-sweep for four.

Despite Pakistan’s efforts to bring Hamza back before lunch, Shanto and Mominul continued to play solidly. Pakistan eventually dismissed them, but there were not enough runs left to make a comeback, resulting in a loss in front of a sparse home crowd. The PAK vs BAN test series concluded with Bangladesh’s historic win.
