The game had a shaky start for Pakistan, but the duo of Mohammad Rizwan and Abdullah Shafique turned the tide. Although Abdullah Shafique was dismissed after reaching his century, Mohammad Rizwan remained unbeaten with a remarkable score of 131.

Abdullah Shafique’s brilliant 113-run innings was instrumental in Pakistan’s remarkable comeback. Saud Shakeel joined the chase after Matheesha Pathirana claimed Abdullah Shafique’s wicket.
Sri Lanka exhibited control over the game by keeping their bowling tight and restricting the Pakistani batters. Despite losing Babar Azam early in the innings, Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan carried the game forward.
Having set a challenging target of 345 runs for Pakistan, Sri Lankan bowlers began well as Dilshan Madushanka dismissed Pakistan’s opener, Imam-ul-Haq. Pakistan’s skipper, Babar Azam, took the crease with the intention of playing a significant innings.
