Pakistan Football Federation has been handed a suspension by the International Football governing authority FIFA, over the issue of interference caused by the third- parties.
FIFA in its statement said that third-party interference accounts for serious violations of the FIFA Statutes and guidelines. The move comes after a recent hostile take-over of Pakistan Football Federation headquarters in Lahore by a group of protestors and also after the forceful removal of the FIFA-appointed normalization committee led by Haroon Malik.
FIFA handed suspension to PFF after the ill-conceived control of the PFF headquarters was not lifted. The suspension will be lifted only after FIFA gets an affirmation from the standardization committee that it had gained control of the premises, records, organization, and correspondence channels with no impediment.
This is not the first time that FIFA has banned Pakistan. Earlier in 2018, it faced the same issue when a court-appointed committee took over PFA.
