Pant is an extremely dangerous player who can change the game on its head: Shane Jurgensen

Rishabh Pant is the name that has a great weightage in modern-day Indian Cricket. His journey from IPL to being an all-time wicketkeeping batsman of the Indian team to Captaining the Delhi Capitals in IPL has been incredible.

Among all of his brilliant performances, his career-defining knock that he played in Australia’s tour will be remembered for ages. He played a decisive role in leading team India to win the Border-Gavaskar trophy and creating history. Since then he has been a primary focus of opposition teams.

Now, as the World Test Championship final is very near, New Zealand’s bowling coach Shane Jurgensen expressed his views regarding the series. In an interview with The Telegraph he told why and how Pant can be a headache for New Zealand.

Jurgensen told The Telegraph “Well, Pant is an extremely dangerous player who can change the game on its head. We saw how well he did it against Australia and England.”

“He’s extremely positive-minded, but with that comes potentially the opportunity to take his wicket,” Jurgensen, in his second stint as the Black Caps bowling coach, told The Telegraph from Southampton.

“Our bowlers need to execute well, stay calm and make it as difficult as possible for Pant to score runs. He’s certainly a free-flowing batsman and a tough one to stop, which we should keep in mind,”  The Telegraph quoted Jurgensen as saying.

Notably, World Test Championship Final is scheduled to be held from 18th June to 22nd June in Southampton.  With less than 3 weeks remaining for the finals, both teams are gearing up to lock horns with each other.

While New Zealand has to play 2 test matches series against England from 2nd June so they are already in England completing their mandatory isolation. On the other hand team, India is currently in Isolation in India. They will reach England around 2nd June. . Thereafter, they’ll start their 3 days strict isolation in hotels. Players will start practicing from the 4th day onwards.
