In the second round of Olympic Games Paris 2024 ticket sales came to an end. With new sales records set, including the sale of more than a million tickets in just 36 hours, it was an unheard-of success.

In total, 1.89 million tickets for all 767 of the Games’ sessions were sold in just over a week.

“The success of the ticket sale was better than we ever could have imagined,” said Tony Estanguet, president of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee.

The second phase only involved single tickets and was available via a draw system on a global scale. There were tickets available for every Olympic event (aside from surfing, which doesn’t sell tickets), including all of the finals and the opening and closing ceremonies.

About 60% of the tickets were sold for under €100. The percentage of tickets sold for 24 euros is 17%.

People from 178 different countries purchased Paris 2024 tickets

Similar to the first phase, the demand for tickets was greater than the supply, with four million people registering for the draw.

A total of 178 countries were represented among the buyers, with the French public accounting for two thirds of them (63.5 percent of buyers reside in France and 36.5% abroad).

The average buyer is 40 years old, and women make up 45% of the market.

All Olympic sports, including bar surfing, are covered by the tickets that were sold during the second phase, and they range in price.

Unsurprisingly, team sports are the most popular, as they need stadiums with the highest seating capacities.

  3. Handball
  4. Athletics
  5. Volleyball

On the first day of sales (Thursday, May 11), tickets for triathlon, sport climbing, BMX Racing, BMX Freestyle and breaking were all sold out in under two hours.

In total, 6.8 million tickets for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 have already been sold when all phases (‘multi-ticket’ packages, single tickets, and sales to various stakeholders of the Games) are taken into account.

This summer, the next round of Olympic Games tickets will be distributed, said Estanguet. “In the upcoming weeks, the procedure for this new phase — without a draw — will be specified.”

Tickets for the Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024 go on sale on October 9, 2023

The Paralympic Summer Games, which were organised in France for the first time in the history of the country, are met with growing anticipation and excitement with each new iteration and will be held in 2024 from August 28 to September 8.

The unique platform tickets.paris2024.org will once again be used for the opening of ticket sales for the upcoming Paralympic Games on Monday, October 9.

For this competition, 2.8 million tickets will be made available for purchase. This sale will be open to everyone, available in real time, and draw no restrictions.

More than 500,000 tickets for the first Paralympic Summer Games in France will cost 15 euros, and nearly half of the 2.8 million tickets will cost less than 25 euros. The most desirable sessions and stadium seats can cost up to 100 euros.
