Paris Saint-Germain beat Angers 1-0 and won a record-extending 13th Ligue 1 title without losing a game and with six matches to spare on Saturday.

In a sunny and joyous Parc des Princes, PSG needed only a draw to run away with the title but forward Desire Doue’s  lone goal made it 23 victories in 28 games.

Ousmane Dembele, the top scorer in Ligue 1, entered the game in the second half but was unable to add to his league-high 21 goals.

“Our ambition is to win everything,” said captain Marquinhos, who now has 10 titles since joining the club in 2013. 

“It’s a nice feeling. It is the reward for the work we have put in throughout the season, for our consistency, and the team deserves it,” added the Brazilian center-back.

PSG is now focusing on their Champions League quarterfinal

PSG now has three more French league titles than Saint-Étienne, who have ten but haven’t won since 1981. While Nantes and Monaco have each won eight championships, Marseille has won nine.
