The controversy between PCB and India isn’t coming to an end anytime soon. The rivalry began at the start of the iconic cricket tournament, ICC Champions Trophy, which Pakistan hosted but India refused to travel to the host nation as a result, all the matches featuring India took place in Dubai further frustrating PCB as they reserved the hosting rights and were not okay with this hybrid model. Following the decision, ICC chair Jay Shah announced that all the India vs Pakistan hosted by the two countries will be played at a neutral venue until 2027.

Another uproar occurred after the absence of the Indian Flag from the National Stadium in Karachi during the lead-up to the ICC Champions Trophy resulting in massive trolling of the PCB, however, they later clarified that it was due to INC’S directions that stated only four flags needed to be displayed, the ICC, PCB and the two competing teams.

Now, the most recent development in the rivalry was due to some Indian media reports claiming that PCB incurred a huge loss while hosting the ICC Champions Trophy, which also resulted in a significant cut of the domestic players. PCB took a bold stand on Thursday and clarified that there is no loss, but rather a massive profit of 10 billion.

PCB had earlier called out the Indian media regarding the same matter and said, ” The main purpose of today’s press conference is to expose the propaganda of the Indian media which is being done with reference to the Champions Trophy and it is being said that the Pakistan Cricket Board has suffered a heavy loss due to this tournament. So, the Pakistani enemy, the Indian media, as usual, has set up a shop of lies which we will destroy today. So, whatever was going on in the Indian media, it is a pity that it was also run on the Pakistani media but the facts are exactly the opposite of this”

Now, in another press conference, PCB spokesperson Aamir Mir warned India against such false information and said, “All the decision-making is done by ICC. If India has tried to harm Pakistan, then I can tell you also pay the price. You know India vs Pakistan sell like hot cakes. You know for the next three years Pakistan will not travel to India. So if Pakistan will incur any financial loss, India will suffer more financial loss with Pakistan not travelling to India,”

India and Pakistan have played against each other in several events for more than a decade during which Pakistan last toured in India for a bilateral series in 2012-13 while India toured in Pakistan in 2005-06. This controversy highlights the tensions between both nations, not just politically, but also in terms of sports.
