At age nine, Foden started in Man City’s youth program and has won the PFA Young Player of the Year award for the last two years. Foden calls the new contract’s signing “a dream come true.” It’s difficult for me to express how pleased I am with this contract, he remarked.

I have consistently backed City. I’ve been practicing here for a very long time and have even held a ballboy position. Knowing that I will stay a member of this club through 2027 is wonderful because I adore it so much.

“Pep and his team, who coach me every day on the practice field, are largely responsible for my progress over the past three years. Working with them gives me the best chance to keep improving and become the best player I can be.

“With this team, I think I can keep improving and succeeding. The two things that matter most to me are those two.

“Without City, I would not be where I am now, therefore I want to thank everyone there. Every coach I worked with at the Academy, every player I’ve played with, and every person who supports the team. Being a member of this football team is an honour.”

Txiki Begiristain, director of football, continued: “We are all so proud of Phil and all he has already accomplished, but we also know there is still so much more in store for him.
