The three-day Group Stage of the PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) 2025 ended on July 27, bringing intense action and surprising results. 24 teams, split into three groups, battled for spots in the next phase. After 12 matches, the top eight teams secured their places in the Grand Finals, while the remaining 16 will compete in the Survival Stage on July 29-30 for the last eight slots in the finale.
Alter Ego Leads the Pack
Alter Ego from Indonesia dominated the Group Stage with a brilliant performance. They topped the overall leaderboard with 121 points and an impressive 86 eliminations across 12 matches.
4Thrives Esports surprised fans with consistent gameplay, taking second place with 111 points, making them a strong contender for the title.

Highlights of the Group Stage
- DRX and Weibo Gaming were equally strong, both ending with 89 points.
- Alpha Gaming (Mongolia) had an incredible comeback in the last six matches, finishing fifth with 86 points.
- Team Secret from Vietnam grabbed sixth place with 86 points, showing consistency throughout the stage.
- ThunderTalk Gaming and IDA Esports rounded out the top eight with 83 points each.
Former PMGO champions Regnum Carya secured ninth place with 81 points, including two Chicken Dinners. NS RedForce (South Korea) and Yangon Galacticos (Myanmar) also put up strong performances, finishing 10th and 11th, respectively.
Defending Champions Struggle
Alpha7 Esports, the defending champions, had a tough run. Despite earning two Chicken Dinners, they failed to perform in their final matches, dropping to 12th place with 70 points.
Indian Representation
Team AxTMG from India had a mixed performance, finishing 15th with 62 points and 33 eliminations. However, their 18-point Chicken Dinner in the last match shows they still have potential to bounce back in the Survival Stage.
