Prithvi Shaw scored a second century on Sunday in a One-Day Cup 2023 match against Durham at Chester-le-Street, adding to his remarkable 244-run knock.
The Northamptonshire opener smashed four and two sixes off three successive deliveries to end the match in spectacular fashion after reaching his century off 68 deliveries and leading his team to a six-wicket victory.

Prithvi Shaw scores another century
Shaw made an unbeaten 125 off 76 balls with 15 fours and 7 sixes. In a 24-run 21st over, he virtually put an end to the match by destroying leg-spinner Scott Borthwick with two sixes and three fours off successive deliveries.
The 23-year-old’s first double-hundred came against Somerset this week. His fierce performance of 244 off 153 smashed numerous List A cricket records, including the record for the highest individual score in the history of the 50-over competition.
The right-hander is currently the leading run-scorer in the One-Day Cup 2023 with 429 runs scored in four games for an astounding average of 143. He is followed by fellow countryman Cheteshwar Pujara, who has 329 runs in five innings.

The Northamptonshire Steelbacks have risen to second place in Group B after three straight victories, trailing only Warwickshire, who have won all four of their games. Leicestershire Foxes are currently in first place in Group A after winning four of their first five games. Since Hampshire lost to the Foxes, they are now in second place.
