Jakub Mensik produced a sensational victory to defeat 6-time Miami winner Novak Djokovic, lifting his maiden ATP title. The Czech prevailed over a number of big players enroute to his final glory  with a win over his idol.

Djokovic, who was eyeing a century of his ATP titles, surprisingly lost both sets 7-4 in breakers. This defeat marks a significant setback for the Serbian to become the most successful player in Miami.

Mensik became only the second player ranked outside the top 50 to beat Djokovic in an ATP finale. The 19-year-old is the lowest-ranked player to emerge victorious in Miami, and the youngest ever to win more than six tiebreaks at an ATP Masters 1000 event.
