The US Open 2024 is set to begin on June 26 with top tennis players eyeing for the hard-court glory. Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and local girl Coco Gauff will be looking to defend their singles titles in the final Grand Slam of the year.

One of the most coveted tennis tournaments, the US Open not only bolsters the reputation of the tennis players and sends their names to history books, but also lands them a handsome amount of prize money.

US Open 2024: Prize Money Details

The total prize money for the 2024 edition of the US Open has been pegged at $75 million. This is an increase of 15.38% compared to 2023. The amount will be distributed across various rounds in the tournament.

Break-Up

•         First round: $100,000
•         Second round: $140,000
•         Third round: $215,000
•         Round of 16: $325,000
•         Quarter-finals: $530,000
•         Semi-finals: $1 million
•         Runner-up: $1.8 million
•         Champion: $3.6 million

This means that even the loser of the first round will walk away with $100,000.

The ultimate winner in the summit clash will receive an amount of $3.6 million each in men’s and women’s single. This is 20% more than what the champions received in the 2023 edition of the US Open. Last year Djokovic and Gauff had received $3 million each in prize money. The prize money for the US Open was set at $65 million in 2023.

US Open More Rewarding Then Other Grand Slams

It would be worth noting that the US Open reward is more lucrative then the other three Grand Slams in 2024 calendar year.

Australian Open 2024 singles champions, Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka, received $2.08 million each.

Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek, received $2.66 million each for winning the French Open 2024 titles in singles.

Wimbledon 2024 singles champions, Carlos Alcaraz and Barbora Krejcikova, were rewarded 3.51 million each.
