The Pro Wrestling League (PWL) is set for a high-profile return as it officially unveiled the schedule for its fifth season, marking a new chapter for India’s premier franchise-based wrestling competition. After undergoing a comprehensive restructuring, PWL Season 5 will run from January 15 to February 1, 2026, at the Noida Indoor Stadium, bringing together elite Indian and international wrestlers in a compact, high-intensity format.

The season opener on January 15 will see Punjab Royals take on UP Dominators, immediately placing two ambitious franchises under the spotlight. With revamped squads, a refreshed operational structure, and record-breaking player auctions, PWL 2026 aims to reassert itself as the leading professional wrestling league in the country.

Pro Wrestling League 2026: Format

Six franchises- Delhi Dangal Warriors, Haryana Thunders, Tiigers of Mumbai Dangal, Maharashtra Kesari, Punjab Royals, and UP Dominators– will compete in a round-robin league format, with each team playing five matches. A total of 15 league-stage fixtures will be played across 13 matchdays, ensuring fast-paced action throughout the season.

At the end of the league phase, the top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled for January 30 and 31, before the champions are crowned in the PWL 2026 Final on February 1 (Sunday). Strategic rest days on January 22 and January 24 have been built into the schedule to support athlete recovery without compromising competitive intensity.

Each league tie will feature nine bouts across multiple weight categories, maintaining PWL’s distinctive team-based scoring system that balances men’s and women’s wrestling while rewarding squad depth and tactical match-ups.

The league will gather early momentum with back-to-back double-header matchdays on January 16 and 17. On January 16, Maharashtra Kesari will face Delhi Dangal Warriors, followed by Punjab Royals taking on Haryana Thunders. The following evening will see Tiigers of Mumbai Dangal begin their campaign against UP Dominators, before Delhi Dangal Warriors return to the mat against Haryana Thunders.
