Parisians have won the 1st leg of the champions league semi final between PSG vs Arsenal
Thanks to Ousmane Dembele’s solitary goal in the tie, PSG will be dreaming about their first Champions League title. PSG were solid in defence and were electric on the attack. Dembele has been the best player of 2025 without any doubt, the French man has hit a staggering 33 goals this season along with 12 assists, counting up to 45g/a in 45 matches.
Man of the match will go to Gianluigi Donnarumma
But the man of the match will go to Gianluigi Donnarumma, the Italian goalkeeper stood tall at every Arsenal attempt and was ready for any challenge that he was up to. His stature grew a few inches taller as he sensed dangers out and soldered the PSG net.
Both the halves had individual halves within them that can be divided explaining the tempo and possession.
In the first 30 minutes of the match, PSG was all over the field and it was difficult for Arsenal to make anything of the match but it was after the half hour mark, that Arsenal made a comeback and ran the show as Martinelli and Saka started to find their feet and continued to trouble Donnarumma but he allowed no trespassing.
Arsenal also had a goal disallowed in the 50th minute by VAR
The second half was identical in terms of the split but the only difference was that Arsenal dominated until the substitutions were made 70 minutes onwards by Luis Enrique. Arsenal also had a goal disallowed in the 50th minute by VAR as Mikel Merino had strayed offside after a beautifully lofted ball by Declan Rice from a free-kick.
Mikel Arteta has some words of motivation after the 1st leg
“We are going to have to do something special in Paris,” Arteta said. “We have to go to Paris and win the game. We are more than capable of doing it.
“It’s half-time and we have a big chance to be in the final.”
He added: “We’re disappointed with the result. We put so much into the game.
“The first 10 or 15 minutes, we struggled to get momentum and to get the dominance we wanted. But, other than that, there wasn’t anything apart from the goal. It’s a very individual moment that matters at this level.
“After that, the team went better and better and it’s disappointing to not get a draw at least.”
