Achraf Hakimi hits a brace in PSG's win over Metz.

PSG is still 100%

PSG beat Metz 2-1 away from home thanks to a last-minute winner from Hakimi. With this victory, the Parisians have a 100% record in the league.

First half

Hakimi opened the scoring for PSG in the fifth minute of the game. Neymar released Icardi in behind and the Argentinian noticing Goalkeeper rushing out chipped the ball. The ball cleared off the line by Matthieu Idol fell nicely for Hakimi. The wing-back hit the ball the first time but was blocked by a defender. However, the goal was given after checking with the goal-line technology.

Missing Messi through injury, PSG looked out of ideas. Although they dominated possession in the first half they could not find the second goal. Subsequently, Metz found their way back into the game in the 39th minute as Kiki Kouyate’s header could not be stopped by Keylor Navas.

Lamine Gueye could have completed the comeback just before halftime, but he failed to find a way past Navas after being sent through on goal by Ibrahima Niane.

Second Half

Georgino Wijnaldum could have opened his PSG account early in the second half but narrowly missed. The Dutch international’s shot missed the goal by afoot.

Neymar sent a missing effort past the near post as PSG sought to regain their lead. The Brazil star was to the fore again when Hakimi blazed high across the face of the goal from his clever lofted pass.

Kylian Mbappe scared Metz fans by almost scoring a long-range free-kick.

Metz’s captain Dylan Bronn received his second yellow card of the game for time-wasting having kicked the ball away. Meanwhile, coach Frederic Antonetti was also sent off for his protest against the referee’s decision. Moments later, Hakimi scored the winner late in the stoppage time to get PSG their win. Neymar played a perfect through ball to Hakimi and the Moroccan international took three touches before lashing it into the bottom corner.
